Vehicle Security |
||
|
Over the past week we’ve continued engaging with residents about vehicle security following reports of suspicious activity in several neighbourhoods. As always, our aim is to work together to reduce opportunities for crime and keep our communities safe. Here are some simple but effective steps everyone can take to help protect their vehicles: Lock Your Vehicle Even when parked outside your home, always ensure your vehicle is fully locked and windows are closed. Thieves often test door handles looking for easy opportunities. 👀 Remove Valuables Please avoid leaving bags, tools, electronics or any items on display. Even small items can tempt offenders. If you must leave belongings in the vehicle, store them out of sight. 🔑 Keep Keys Secure Do not leave keys in the vehicle, even briefly. Keyless entry owners are encouraged to use a signal‑blocking pouch to prevent relay theft. 💡 Park Safely Try to park in well‑lit or busy areas. At home, using additional deterrents like a steering lock, driveway bollard or wheel clamp can significantly reduce the risk of theft. 📱 Report Suspicious Activity If you see anyone trying door handles or acting suspiciously around vehicles, please report it. 101 for non‑emergencies 999 if a crime is in progress We’ll continue conducting patrols, engaging with residents and offering crime‑prevention advice. Thank you to everyone who has already shared information—community awareness plays a vital role in keeping our neighbourhoods safe. | ||
